Vietnamese March for U.S. Troops
Pacific News Service ^ | Mar 27, 2003 | Sandip Roy and Pueng Vongs

Posted on 03/30/2003 6:57:48 AM PST by Toidylop

Vietnamese-Americans came out to support President Bush for Iraq war in Little Saigon.

More than 1,000 Vietnamese immigrants in Northern California and hundreds more in Southern California took to the streets recently to march in support of the war.

California is home to the largest Vietnamese population outside Vietnam, 500,000 strong, according to the 2000 Census. Vietnamese language media like San Jose weekly Viet Merc and the bilingual web portal Kicon.com reported that Vietnamese immigrants have taken to the streets, complete with red, white and blue flags as well as the yellow ones with three red stripes, the flag of the erstwhile South Vietnam. Many participants of these marches are veterans of the army of the Republic of Vietnam, who have resettled in the United States following years of re-education camp imprisonment after the fall of the U.S.-backed government.

The American Vietnamese Republican Assembly of Orange County took part in several rallies to support the troops including a rally at the Oscars, reports its president Bach Lien Tran Batdorf. The Vietnamese immigrant community has traditionally been a supporter of the Republican Party, based on the thinking that the GOP was more anti-Communist than the Democratic Party.

The GOP is more anti-Communist, since the DemonRAT party is unapologetically Communist.

I work with many Vietnamese people. They are very well educated and I love their senses of humor. Their stories are amazing. This is one story I did NOT see in the newspaper this morning. !

God Bless them, and thanks to them. I was an ARVN adviser for 3 months during the war and liked the Vietnamese people I met and worked with during my year there.

PING FYI

It seems those who have faced totalitarianism have a better grasp on the value of freedom.

They've been turning out in Washington state. They were at our big rally last week and even more at the "Outpost 122" rally yesterday (pictures to follow later today).

'"Have you noticed the people that had been suffered because of tyranny ALL support President Bush and our troops?"

Yes, I have noticed that fact. And if we could "poll" the silenced majorities in China, in Cuba, in Venezuela, inside VietNam, inside N. Korea - there would be multiplied millions MORE with US!!!

It is one of the true ironies of our time that this nation with its cherished freedoms has produced people with half the power (not half the people) in this country who abhor personal freedom and rights of individuals created in the image of God. THESE American terrorists are much more of a danger to the freedom of the world's people than butcher Saddam. Because our home grown terrorists are allowed to roam free and to "connect" freely with our enemy. (That is, unless they AREN't! One can only hope we are monitoring all communications between Hitlery Clinton, her staff, and the enemies of America).

Gee, why didn't CBS cover this march?

Good gosh, he says, slapping his forehead. I forgot. These people aren't VC or NVA.

Hey, battlegearboat, if you have an extra ba muoi ba, I'll take one.

Little Saigon BUMP!

My "Iraqi Freedom" protest sign?

Liberation from tyrants:
IT'S NOT JUST FOR WHITE EUROPEANS ANY MORE!

...just my humble reponse to the Racist Democrats that condemned a generation of
South Vietnamese to "Re-educations Camps" and taking refugee boats (some drowning)
to get to the USA.

Oh, and to the appeasing band of modern-day Nevilles who think rape, pillage, and
theft by Saddam, Sons, and Co. is just A-OK for average Iraqis.

I have to fight myself from yelling "You Bunch of Saddam-ites!" at these "peace protestors".
