Radio news this morning said, somewhat hysterically, that the virus can be "caught" simply by touching an elevator button which has been touched by a SARS victim. If so, so much for the "close contact" requirement. Looks like some are borderline into hysteria. Hard to know whom to believe.

The virus is a new strain of coronavirus, a virus that causes the common cold. Therefore, the method of transmission is the same as the common cold, IMO. Everyone has had a cold and that is what makes this disease scary.
