Support our troops, help MOA send a USO care package!

Dear Americans,

After months of deception by Saddam Hussein, wrangling with the United Nations, and obstruction by France and Germany, the war has finally begun. In 5 days our troops have swept nearly 200 miles across Iraq and destroyed virtually all of Saddam Hussein's forces that have stood in the way of the allied advance.

The armed forces are fighting as I write this and they are performing brilliantly. Their service should fill those of us at home with nothing but pride and respect for them, and that is overwhelmingly what America feels right now.

But the Left isn't supporting the troops. If you've listened to the media lately, the news about the war is all bad. Just last night NBC News had an entire broadcast of doom and gloom. The show discussed U.S. Forces getting "bogged down", speculated that the war plan is not a good one, and intimated that Coalition forces have supposedly accidentally killed civilians.

And while the media has painted a picture of doom, the radical activist Left at home has been trying to make the world community believe that the American people do not support this war. And the liberal media loves putting photos of protestors on TV and giving the perception that there are thousands of Americans who oppose this president and the war in Iraq.

All of this is wrong. The American people are overwhelmingly in favor of removing Saddam Hussein, and our forces are winning this war. They see how important it is to remove this evil dictator, and they understand it far better than the media elites and liberals do. Tuesday I mailed all of you about the war, and asked you to sign a petition supporting our troops in their quest to free the people of Iraq.

I also told you that for every 1000 of you that signed the petition, MillionsofAmericans.com would pay for a care package to the troops to be mailed via the United Service Organizations (USO). These care packages contain an assortment of items that our military have specifically requested such as prepaid international calling cards, disposable cameras, toiletries, and sunscreen. I'm writing to give you an update. Since I wrote yesterday, over 10,000 of you have signed the petition! That's more than 10,000 signers in less than 24 hours! Also, we've received more than 9,000 emails to our troops, some of them very touching. We've had great success.

Friends, we're rolling right now; people are signing left and right, and even more notes are coming in literally as I write this. Let's not stop here! Our troops need to know just how much love and respect we have for them.

I wanted to let you know that I kept my word. Today we sent ten care packages with selected notes from some of you who have written to our troops in Iraq. Hopefully with your help we'll send many more.

We didn't stop there though. It's been a busy day! The names of those of you who signed the petition have been sent to Sec. of Defense Rumsfeld along with a note of encouragement. The letter told him just how strong our support is for him, our soldiers in Iraq, and President Bush.
