Why are we spending time trying to train animals that have lives and minds of their own to try and carry out these tasks for us? That just seems a little archaic, not to mention unreliable," Boyles explained. Which explains why bomb sniffing dogs, handicapped assisting primates, falconry and my bird hunting springer are so unreliable..DIPSTICK!!!

When this peta person can prove to me she has done a mind-meld with the afor mentioned bottle-nosed dolphins, only then will I be slightly influenced as to the veracity of her comments vis-a-vis her knowledge of what goes on in a dolphins mind. It appears to me that mz so-and-so has squandered what the Lord and her parents chose to give her.

Nice to see that PETA is on top of things. Took them what, 40 years to comment on the Navy using dolphins! I'm not so sure that brain trust Boyle would have know about this if it wasn't for CNN.

These are animals that, number one, have not volunteered to take part in this whatsoever They never said that they didn't want to take part in this activity, either.

True, I think she drafted us. When we're good she takes us for a walk and lets us give her treats.

They never said that they didn't want to take part in this activity, either. And if these critters "feel" thay are being abused, they are free to swin out to sea.
Ms. Boyle uses a common leftist technique and claims to speak for the dolphins, when she doesn't, and if she thinks she can, let's have her produce proof that dolphins have been killed or injured "playing this game."

More nonsense from the same sort of people who were suing to stop the SURTASS LFA program.

But then again, the dolphins didn't elect the 'animal rights activists' to speak for them.

The scene: a Navy speedboat off Coronado, California.
A Navy SEAL with an innate ability to speak to marine mammals (known as "The Dolphin Whisperer") is looking at the Green Peas ship, the "Rainblow Worrier."
"What a bunch of putzes. OK, Flipper, let's do the minelaying exercise again."
Flipper cheerfully whistles, does a flip out of the water, and takes off at high speed.
A Navy Admiral is in the boat. "Lieutenant, how do you DO that?"
"Beats me, sir...I just can."
Flipper suddenly surfaces.
The Dolphin Whisperer: "What's up, Flipper?"
Flipper whistles.
"No, Flipper, you're not allowed to blow up the Green Peas people, even if they ARE playing Judy Collins into the water instead of Twisted Sister."

Did PETA voice any concerns during the Iran-Iraq war when Iran marched children in human waves to clear land-based mine fields? Oh wait, human children are less important than non-human creatures. [/sarcasm]

They were drafted. Get over it.PETA needs to become more informed. These dolphins are the first draftees into the Charley Rangel Dolphin Task Force.

During a recent visit to Sea World, I spoke with a dolphin who had gone through the Navy program. He said that he enjoyed military life, swimming in the wide open spaces, and feeling that he was accomplishing something for his country.
I was impressed.
