I didn't see the speech. By prerecorded do you mean several days ago? It would be suicide for Saddam, assuming he still alive, to go to the TV station and make a speech. But recording one in a bunker and taking the tape to the station would be doable, but would be obviously recorded.

There are threads that mention how one of the people Saddam congratulates for leadership in battle SURRENDERED already.
He'll need to get more specific or hold up newspapers with visible headlines/photos to show that he's still "in charge".

Yes, by 'prerecorded'I meant that it was my opinion that it was recorded before the war started.
I based this on the fact that if it had be recorded recently the presentation would have been different. He also would have mentioned the recent negative news (copters down, prisoners captured).
