I'm heading downtown right now - heard an oddball report on the WLS-AM 8:00 am news about an "anti-war" rally at noon also at Dearborn and Adams. Hmmm ....

Field Report!

GRRRRR called in.

All set up in Federal Plaza. 8 to 10 FReepers on hand including chicagolady and RedWing9. Digital photo's and video are being shot for later posting.

About 25 members of the motorcycle club Rolling Thunder, fully decked out and with flags circled the block and parked near our group.

GRRRRR Field Report:

About 500 people including large groups of veterans and parents with pictures of their military children.

A sea of flags and many signs.

There's a small group of anti's which has been relegated to a corner of the plaza facing our backs.

The music has begun to play.

RedWing9 will be kicking off the speechs in about 15 min.

News outlets include ABC, NBC, CBS, Telemundo and Univision.

Our friend from WLS radio 890, Deborah Rowe is there.

I just spoke to RW9 on the phone to tell him that the rally was on CNN and the reporter, although in excruciating pain, admitted that there were more people at the Pro-America than at the leftie sob fest!!!!

I just saw you all on CLTV. You can sure tell which side the good guys are on, with all those American flags waving. I'm so proud of all of you and wish I could be there.

Please which was RedWing? CLTV covered this rally favorably, kept stressing we far outweighed the "Antis"...showed the DMZ cordoned off but the Antis and the Rally. I intend to call every news station and radio today and thank or yell at them depending how they treated us!!! Again, Chicago Freepers Yahoo!!! Can't wait for the reports!

CLTV just ran a piece on the rally showing the disproportionate turn-out for our guys. Of course they had to find one fairly heated confrontation between (I'm guessing) a Mom with a child in the service and a bunch of anti's. They then interviewed her, a couple more supporters and then one anti.

All in all, not too bad coverage.

Called 630-574-CLTV. The guy was very receptive and happy and I said I hope we see alot of coverage on it throughout
the day and a 'huge' report tonight. He himself was pleased someone called to thank him !
