Glenn Beck Rally for America - Auburn, IN 3/22/03

Posted on 03/21/2003 12:13:22 PM PST by spookycc

OK, I was a good newbieFReeper and did a search - I did not see this mentioned...

Rally for America: Saturday, March 22, 11:00 a.m. (EST) at the Kruse Auction Park located approx. 20 miles north of Fort Wayne on Interstate 69. Speaker Glenn Beck.

I've heard many attendance guesses above 5,000 - should be a great rally! It's been extensively advertised locally.

Turns out my boss' husband works for one of the companies that is sponsoring the rally (in fact, he's having breakfast with Glenn Beck :) so we'll be heading up there early, to help set-up. ;-))

I'm going. I went to the rally with Glenn Beck over in Cleveland two weeks ago. There were over 10,000 cheering people in attendence, so what makes the local news?

You guessed it--100's of war protesters picket local army recruiting office. Police are called to drag their sorry a$$e$ away.

It figures. Current estimates range anywhere from 10,000 to 20,000 tomorrow. I'm going this time with a whole car load instead of just myself.

Yeah, and then we read articles that say the global anti-war movement doesn't get enough press. Yeah, right.

Why are the peaceniks violent and we're peaceful?

Great! I'm going with two or three others as well!

My family and I will be there, too. Here's hoping for a big turnout!

Thanks for troop support. 03/16/2003 - armymarinemom:
I got a phone call from the sand box this morning. My son said that news of rallies to support our troops has reached Kuwait. He asked that I thank everyone involved because support from home means the world to our troops.
They can hear you!

The Auburn, IN Glenn Beck Rally today was sponsored by our local AM talk radio station (WOWO 1190). They had ham radio operators there, and the rally was heard on US bases all over the world. There was also a web simulcast at Glennbeck.com.

Organizers said we had between 12,000 and 17,000 people. We had traffic backed up all the way onto I-69 from Kruse Auction house - they finally had to open the big overhead doors for the overflow. ;-)

Glenn Beck didn't know what a FReeper was, BTW. I explained it to him. My boss' husband introduced us, after he told Glenn at breakfast about how we counter-protest the peaceniks. ;-)

I'm sure other FReepers will be posting about the rally. To be in a crowd that huge all cheering like mad whenever Dubya's picture came up on the pre-rally slideshow was indescribable.

There was one sad thing that I will always remember, though. Beck said he had talked to Bush SR, and he said that after 9/11, his son could feel that all Americans were praying for him.

Then Beck said that Bush SR spoke to him as a father, with a tear in his eye. "He could feel when America stopped praying for him, too." :(

I hope Dubya feels all our prayers now.
