A former soldier accused of murdering his two young sons has wept as he insisted they were butchered by Albanian assassins.

Steven Wilson, 44, told a jury at Birmingham Crown Court that his sons Brad, seven, and Brett, eight, were stabbed through the throat with a screwdriver.

Wilson, of Linden Avenue, Great Barr, Birmingham, denies murdering the boys. Their bodies were discovered with him in his 4X4 on a golf course in February last year.

He told the jury how his wife Denise Williams, 26, was accused by Albanian pimps of stealing a large quantity of cash and cocaine from the safe of a brothel she managed but she told them he was responsible.

According to Wilson, three Albanians tracked him down and forced him to drive to Hill Top golf course, Handsworth.

He claimed he watched in horror with a screwdriver held to his throat as first Brad and then Brett were slaughtered in the back of his Daihatsu.

"Brett was screaming 'Help me daddy'. I felt so ashamed of myself and guilty that I could not save them - I could not save my babies," Wilson told the court.

Wait a minute. They caught this guy on the golf course, with the dead kids in his SUV. He tells them that the Albanians did it right there, on the golf course, apparently just moments before. It seems to me that there might be something to the police allegations that he, in fact, did it. Let's not just automatically believe his story just because you don't like Albanians. It reminds me of that woman who drowned her kids in the car and said that some generic black carjacker did it.

Actually it shows that the Albanians have such a reputation in the UK (well deserved too) that they can be blamed for such a thing - if indeed the story of the father is false.
