Raimondo is a disgusting monster. He is defending a 44 year old man who went to meet a 14 year old to have sex. Scott Ritter was Chief Arms inspector of UNSCOM. This was the group set up after the Persian Gulf War to make sure that Iraq destroyed all their WMD. Ritter was very anti-Saddam Hussein until the last year. All of a sudden Ritter is pro-Iraq. People wondered what made Ritter to a 180 degree turn. Well, it turns out that Scott Ritter back in mid-2001 was busted by local police for attempting to meet a 14 year old girl for sex. He met "her" in an internet chat room. One problem. That 14 year old was an undercover cop. They agrees to meet at a hotel. When Ritter went there he was busted. Since this was NOT an actual 14 year old, Ritter was charged with a class B Misdemeanor. In New York, that is punishable by up to 1 year in prison. Ritter made a deal to stay out of trouble for 6 months and if he did the charges would be removed from his record. This is not unusual for first time offenders. But Ritter was busted a SECOND time. This was kept secret. It was leaked in mid January of 2003 about Ritters arrest and then it was assumed that Iraq may have been blackmailing Ritter. Well, guess what? Ritters change of heart on Iraq took place at about the time his 6 month probation ended!
Justin Raimondo questioned the timing. What Raimondo did not mention, is that when a prosecutor is fired it makes local news. Defense lawyers want to know why. Was it insubordination, abuse of prisoners, false plea agreements, etc. The assistant DA who handled Scott Ritters case did NOT inform the District Attorney. This is why she was fired.
