When: Saturday, March 22 at Noon

Location: Rte. 41 entrance to Island Park (near Marina Jack Restaurant) Rte. 41 & Ringling Blvd. at the Sarasota Bay waterfront.

Bring American Flags, 'Support Our Troops' signs, 'Honk for Our Troops' signs, etc.

Please plan to attend & spread the word among your friends, clubs, churches, communities, and veterans groups.

Let's have a huge turnout to show that

The Sarasota Herald Tribune printed my letter today which gave details about the RALLY.

I've already gotten a call from a Korean War Vet who saw it. He's coming 'in full uniform with his medals on' he told me. And he's contacting over 100 of his Veteran buddies to urge them to come.

The Sarasota Young Republicans & other County GOP Clubs have been working hard to get out the word, They are spreading flyers around the city, contacting firefighters, police groups, scout troops, churches, VFW Clubs.

Our Congresswoman Katherine Harris has been invited to speak. We are not sure yet if her schedule will permit her to attend but we are hopeful. Other FL State Reps have been contacted and we expect they will make every effort to attend. I've been told that the response has been very favorable and we are optimistic. And some 'Roaring Thunder' type Bikers are planning to attend, I'm told.

This afternoon, thanks to the Free Republic Network I am supposed to be on the Art Cronk Talk Radio Show on The Wave 1530AM at 2:10 PM. I will be talking about Liberty Weekend Rallies, the need to show our troops that we support them and urging people to attend the Sarasota Rally.

The local GOP people are learning about Free Republic and I think we may attrack some newbies. This has been a great joint effort between the Free Republic and local GOP people!

I'm going to make reservations at Marina Jack Reataurant so FL Freepers who attend can have an 'After Action Lunch'. FL FREEPERS: Let me know if you want to be included!

Whooo Hooo... I just had my first radio interview. My husband listened in another room and said that I came across great (but he's biased, of course).

Art Cronk on 1530AM let me explain about FreeRepublic.com & the Free Republic Network and give the URL of the website of Rally For America....freeper.org..... I told him about Liberty Weekend and the Rallies scheduled in 55 cities. And how our purpose is to show support for our troops.

He was expecting Bob J to call and I explained that Bob had asked me to call because I was local and could tell him about the Sarasota Rally.

I told him about all the local groups involved... GOP Clubs, Veterans organizations, churches, etc.

Then he wrote down all the details about the Sarasota Rally and said that he was going make an effort to come himself.

He asked what we would do if the A.N.S.W.E.R group tried to 'block' the Rally like they've been threatening to 'block' things once the War begins?

I said that we had a permit for the Rally and would have a peaceful assembly. I added that I was sure the Sarasota Police would protect us if neecessary.

I told him that it wasn't about being pro war but about supporting the troops, supporting our President in confronting world terrorism and supporting the Iraqi peoples desire to be free!

We talked about 7 minutes and then he asked me to repeat the time & location of the Rally. He said he hoped to see me there and I responded that I hoped to meet him there.

I listened to his show after and Art was exposing the truth about A.W.S.W.E.R. and its anti-American Communist connections.

He comes on after O'Reilly on 1530AM. I'll be listening to him from now on.....I'm now one of his fans.....(Smile)

The park isn't very big so you'll see the stage from the entrance. Ii's close to the Selby Gardens so you could go there early.

There is a parking lot in front of the Park and parking on the side streets east of 41. Be sure to cross safely at the Ringling Blvd. traffic light.

We start at Noon with the Program of Pledge, National Anthem, Prayers & short speeches & music. They have a stage & sound system.

Plan is for program to last until about 1PM then for the crowd to march to Island Park entrance to demonstrate along Rte 41 where we can show our support for the troops to the thousands of passing Floridians & tourists from the northland!

Sure hope to see you & your wife there!

Forgot to add.....you go in the Park Entrance (has a large ARCH) right where Ringling Blvd. comes into the parking lot.

I told him that I would prefer to get a "local" but would step in if you weren't available. One of your goals was to get as many possible media opportunities down to the local chapters and organizers! It helps build local media contacts and gets some really good experience at that level! It doesn't do as much good to have an east coast resident giving an interview in say, San Antonio.
