Some of the demonstrators lying in the street and are being covered by white body bags, meant to symbolize peace.

Are they sure it's not symbolizing condoms? After all, this is San Francisco.

Protesters have been divided into "arrestables'' and unarrestables'' and have been trained to lie down in the intersections of Sansome and Market streets.

Arrestables, who all have white masks, practiced lying down on the ground and being placed in white body bags this morning at Justin Herman Plaza.

And what, pray, are "unarrestables"? Those who have "disbursed"?

;-)

It's illegal to impede traffic - walking or driving!

The "arrestables" are those who have agreed to be arrested. After all, you wouldn't want to arrest someone who really didn't want to be arrested. They might make a scene. Charges of police brutality, and all that.

I think we should put these folks in that contraption where your hands and head hang out in the Town Park. I do not find this cruel at all, simply a means of restraint with fresh air thrown in.

That would be stocks, and don't forget to give the populace some custard creme pies.

In the absence of custard creme pies, rotten produce and eggs make an acceptable field-improvised substitute.

What? Crusty underwear and ...well... what else?

Soap. Lots of unopened, unused soap.

What was the point of removing the cuffs???

..Because they are government issue, expensive, and will rust under water.... Use giant tie-wraps, they are disposable...:-)

um... why not, cuff 'em, load 'em on a C130, fly them out past the GGB, and airdrop them?
