Rally: Nominate Estrada
03/16 | Terry Hill

When will there be an organized effort on the part of true Americans to affront the Democratic Senators to allow a vote, per the Constitution, for or against Miguel Estrada?

Call Democrat Senators toll free at 1-800-648-3516. This will get you to the Capitol in DC. Ask to be connected to Senator " x" and tell them to give Estrada and up-or-down vote. It's time to make a decision. Call as many Dems as you can. Filibustering is a waste of taxpayer money.

And ask those Democratic senators why they want more information from Miguel Estrada but didn't want more information from Bill Clinton when he was being credibly accused of rape.

Or, for that matter, why they claim to want more information but don't actually bother to ask him the questions they supposedly want answered?

Any Senator who does not think a nominee has given enough information has a right (and perhaps a duty) to vote "no" for that nominee. That does not, however, imply any right to prevent the nominee from coming to a vote.

Kick the mangy mutt Stevens (thanks Gerald Ford) off the high court and appoint Estrada. The left will love that one. Clarence Thomas: may you live to be 100, and screw the left every live-long day.

Question--anyone.

The Constitution calls for advise and consent with a winning simple majority. Estrada has 55 votes. These obstructionist Dam Dems are in contradiction of the Constutition. Can't they be charged with obstruction of justice, state business or something? Can a group of citizens start a suit against Daschle et al?

I don't know where you are Zoe but there have been rallies in support of Miguel Estrada in many parts of the country. In LA they have been done in front of the building Sen Boxer's office is in. Either the college republicans or the young republicans are working on this as is the RNHA (republican national hispanic association). I'll email some of my contacts and see when they will do this again.

Welcome aboard TruZoe. You got the right idea, for sure.

Calling senators is effective. If you are a constituent and will call or drop by their home state offices, it's even better. I'm in Georgia, so I call Zell Miller's Atlanta office regularly. They pay attention.
