Operation Infinite FReep - Modesto, CA March 1, 2003
Posted on 03/01/2003 5:36:38 PM PST by Diver Dave
Blue skies with temperatures in the mid-sixties during the noon hour greeted 10 patriots and "Rudy" today as they gathered with signs and flags to show support for the USA and our troops serving the cause of FReedom. Horns were sounding and smiles, waves and thumbs-up signals from the passing motorists at the intersection of McHenry and Briggsmore in north Modesto were the order of the day.
Across the street, 14 anti-war activists presented their signs to the public, (nary an American Flag present) but garnered very little support from the passing vehicles.
FReepers HDRider, fxrdeb, and Diver Dave along with HD and deb's dog, Rudy, (who sported a collar of the Red, White and Blue) were joined by several equally minded citizens. Early on, as we looked skyward, we could see the contrail of one of our military jets passing overhead as our nation's defenders patrol the skies over Central California.
As one vehicle turned the corner in front of us, they stopped to take issue with us, shouting whatever was on his mind. His driver then moved on to find a safe parking spot and he walked back to engage in more challenging conversation. This, and an occasional 'flip-off' were no match for the support displayed to us for our efforts.
One of those evil SUV's made a left turn in front of us. The driver sounded the horn, and all the young occupants started shouting, "USA, USA..." as they drove east on Briggsmore.
At the end of the day's FReep, a young lady parked behind us, opened her hatch-back and we were presented with "The National Anthem" and "Proud To Be An American" blaring from her speakers as she place her hand over here heart. Another contrail appeared in the sky, and it was decided to joined together again next Sat. - same time - same channel. See ya next week.

We had our Houston RALLY FOR AMERICA today and unofficial count was ten thousand people there. Freepers got together for beer and burgers at Griff's after the rally. Will have photos posted later! Wonderful day for rallies and Freepers! Tom DeLay was our feature speaker [I am the one who gave Pat Gray radio host KPRC Tom's daughter's contact info and he emailed her and Tom was there today. I am so excited and proud] Tom was a great speaker. Sheila jackson lee showed up but had difficulty speaking OVER the boos. LOL

We had Kevin Black (Clint's brother), Kevin Brady, Tom DeLay, Chris Baker, Pat Gray, Michael Berry as speakers and a lady from the DAR and Mr. Buchanan (I do not remember his official title, vet. from VN war) as speakers. And Kevin Black and Ezra Charles sang. WONDERFUL!!!!!
Freepers who met afterward for burgers were Dix, HumbleGunner, BobbyD, anymouse, Humidston, RikaStrom, Xenalyte, Allegra, PetroniDE, flyer, BuffyT, RonH, HouMatt, TexasLady, ActionAmerica, IamRight and future freeper JaneDoe. and some lurkers. ReJoyce aka Joyce Smith was at the rally - she was a speaker at the Freeper MFJ rally Oct. 1998 in DC. Wonderful lady! I even got my hubby to go to the rally today and he had a great time!
YAHOOOO
and we have to fight TERRORISN as Sheila jackson Lee says it.....
