HOUSE BILL 838 Prohibiting the Motor Vehicle Administration from requiring an applicant for a driver's license to provide information regarding national origin or immigration status; clarifying that an applicant may provide a birth certificate issued by the United States, a United States territory, or a foreign government as proof of age or identity; requiring the Administration to accept specified documents as proof of age and identity; etc.

Tennessee has already beaten you to it. Our Rat controlled legislature passed a bill allowing virtually anyone with a pulse to get a Tennessee DL. The immediate result was that EVERY DL testing center in the state was clogged with illegal aliens for WEEKS, many of them completely unable to read or speak a word of English.

Now 1 1/2 years later, the SAME LEGISLATOR who sponsored the illegal alien DL law, is seeking to ease the voting requirements to allow election day voter registration where the person only has to show a Tennessee DL and some other proof of Tennessee residence. NO proof of citizenship required!

And THIS is EXACTLY where Maryland is heading.

I don't understand. To me, what this seems to say is that a person applying for a Maryland drivers license cannnot be required to provide further proof of citizenship if they can show a U.S. Birth Certificate. Am I wrong? It seems to me that such a document should be proof. What's the issue here?
