"But, he said, his department is trying to educate its customers about ways to do their business without coming into the offices."

During a three-hour wait at the Arizona DMV I wondered why we couldn't get our drivers' licenses and car plates from our insurance companies. Since we're all supposed to be insured anyway, right? You lose your insurance, you lose your drivers license and your plate(s). The insurance company uploads the information to the police and gives the state the car tag price except maybe $10. The only thing the state does is oddball stuff like car titles. You could fire at least 2/3 of the staff and save money.
But then, that's not the demonRAT way. An efficiency expert once told Mayor Daley (D-Chicago) he could reduce the number of workers on the trash trucks to 3. Daley said, "When you figure out how to make it 5, come back and see me."

Don Perata's attitude is typical of liberals.... we're here to serve the government not the other way around. So they're making these budget cuts in vitally needed services to drive home the point: the government needs you more than you need them. And its another diabolical way of keeping people dependent on government, which suits liberals just fine. Customer-less DMV coming soon nearest you.
