Another student penalized for pro-life shirt

Principal bars clothing that 'disrupts the educational process'

Another student has run into trouble with his principal for wearing a pro-life shirt that declares "Abortion is Homicide."

Principal Doug DeLong of Chardon High School in suburban Cleveland said he gave two days of Saturday detention to 17-year-old Bill Noyes after two students in the 1,200-member student body complained about the sweatshirt.

As WorldNetDaily reported last week, a principal at a junior high school in Pennsylvania barred a T-shirt with the same message, arguing that it was the equivalent of wearing a swastika to school. The principal later reversed his decision after a nonprofit legal group explained the student's First Amendment rights and threatened a lawsuit.

The back of the shirt reads: "You will not silence my message. You will not mock my God. You will stop the killing of my generation. Rock For Life."

DeLong said the Chardon High School student's shirt "disrupts the educational process," according to Erik Whittington, spokesman for Rock for Life, the group that produced the shirt.

Whittington told WND that Rock for Life, a youth-oriented project of the American Life League, is consulting lawyers on behalf of Noyes.

In the Pennsylvania case, Rock for Life was assisted by the Thomas More Law Center, which contended that the student's speech did not cause any substantial and material disruptions to the workings of the school and that there was no legal basis on which to restrict his speech.

The Ohio high school student, Noyes, said he was ordered to take off the shirt or turn it inside out after two students said they were offended by the message, according to an Associated Press report. After the afternoon confrontation, Noyes left the school with his mother's permission.

"I should not have to take off a shirt that explains my morals," he said.

Whittington's group has planned a "National Pro-Life T-shirt Day" for April 28. The group says its goal is "to have every pro-life student in America wear a pro-life T-shirt to school" on that day.

What would happen if this were turned in a a term paper?

There is a up to $500.00 (not to exceed ever $25,000) fine to any one that kills an 'endangered' fox, or upsets/touches certain turtle nest eggs along our shores. Under the detailed listings of the federal Endangered Species Act.

There is a $350.00 to $500.00 'amount due' to kill the human species. (AKA abortion) And in second/third human trimesters; scissors are jabbed into the HUMAN head and the brains are sucked out-In elective surgeries- daily, in the United States, all under the guise of a woman's "right." The only real "right" is the "right" to remain silent.

When will humans become "endangered" and protected?

When will the so called pro-"choicers" realize basic science skills of the food-chain? Human's are NOT at the bottom of the food-chain.

Do they really see what they do, with their political correctness all in the guise of a "woman's right"?

The First Amendment of The Constitution protects free speech. What page of The Constitution gives women unfettered access to abortion, from conception through the ninth month?

i have the same shirt, and wear it "out" once in awhile. i've gotten a lot of strange looks but not too many people say anything to me about it. although i am a 22 year old tattooed punk, and not a high school kid.

anything to initiate a discussion about conservatism! < grin >

"DeLong said the Chardon High School student's shirt "disrupts the educational process," ...

Well, it certainly disrupts the liberal education process in our public schools. And truth be known, that is what this is all about.

People do funny things when faced with the reality of their moral decisions. I say Rock on!

I like it!

I've had a few "interesting" conversations about my "CNN LIES" window sticker. Always happens at the gas pumps!

nothing confuses people more than when they find out i'm a gun-toting, dope smoking, tattooed, libertarian Conservative Christian, rock & roll, pro-life computer nerd.

but these are just labels, mind you... labels...

(i, too have the CNN LIES sticker, in addition to "friends don't let friends vote democrat", "politically incorrect and proud of it", the "Jesus fish eats darwin turtle" emblem, "abortion is not healthcare, it's homicide" sticker, and a nice "NORML" sticker as well... i love the look of confusion on their simple little faces!!!)
