Italians are announcing with SoS Powell that they are part of The American Alliance.

Italians are on board! They will support the United States -- Italy will not pull back! (According to the Italian Foreign Minister)

Italy has always been on board to my knowledge. They're just supporting us because they love the Sopranos too. ;)

Regarding the Italians, I think we need to no longer make jokes like, "How many gears does an Italian tank have? (or a Polish one, for that matter)" As Pres. Bush said back in September 2001, this fight will reveal who are friends are. When all is said and done, the French and the Germans may feel the heat to join the coalition. It's clear the US hasn't played its hand yet. I wouldn't bet against George W. Bush.

The Italians have been on board with shortly after 9/11.

We have friends who had a daughter in Italy for a year that started right before 9/11. She was about 24 and working on her Masters Degree. Like her parents, she is a conservative.

She said first that most Italians were outraged and sorry for Americans after 9/11. Then their liberals started saying we caused 9/11.

A lot of the Italians were going along with them. Suddenly, they had some scary incidences and their president released a lot of data about the activies of al Qaeda in Italy and terrorist acts that they had done, failed at and were prevented from doing. This scared most of the Italians back over to our side.

She is back home and predicted that Italy would be a loyal friend in our campaigns against Iraq, Iran and Syria.
