Line between "attempted statutory rape" and the actual act may be blurred in some states. No attorney here, and totally unfamiliar with NY state law. However, I am very familiar with nearby case. The man actually showed up at mall to "meet" this particular "young girl." She was an undercover cop. He is in the slammer-5-7 years....

Would be interesting to know just how far Ritter "went."

That's what I'm thinking...see my #18 post.

Maybe he solicited child porn photos...something.

I don't think a state can criminalize "talking." 14th amendment says all rights apply within every state, doesn't it?
