HEY PEOPLE!!
We know you have been expecting the digs on this Winter's Radical Encuentro Camp. Here goes...
This year we have organized the first URBAN camp in the heart of Houston's Historic Sixth Ward at the MECA center (Multicultural Education and Counciling through the Arts). (You can get directions from their website at www.multiculturalarts.org.
Be sure to mark your calendars for the 21st through 22nd of February to come to H-town, we plan to begin Friday night with some focus and security talks and start bright and early Saturday morning.
So far some of the workshops and speakers we have confirmed for y'all are:Using video cameras at protests, Computer Security by an Indymedia tech person, sustainable long-term & local campaigns, militarization of the South's economy, non-violence in theory & practice, Alternative economies & conscious consumption, military counter-recruitment, art & revolution, permaculture, know-your rights, anti-oppression training, mental & emotional health of activists, consensus based decision making & facilitation.
Projected keynote speakers are Dr. Rania Masri, Economic and Environmental Justice Program at the Institute for Southern Studies and Lorenzo Komboa Ervin, author of Anarchism and the Black Revolution now work ing with the Black Autonomy Network of Community Organizers.
We will send updates regarding housing soon, we want for everyone to stay in one central location (to make breakfast doable among other things) and we are still working on those arrangements.
Please send this out to your gente, and do outreach in your neck of the woods! It is imperative that we have a diverse crowd, so keep that in your forethought.
We are in the process of updating the website so you can reference people to that as well as register online.
Registration is required as well and we will have that up online within a week so look out for it.
There will also be a dowloadable poster that will be on the site that you can use how you see fit :)
We are excited as always to see all our friends come together to learn and grow from one another and we hope to see you there.
If you have any questions, drop us a line at radicalencuentro@yahoo.com radicalencuentro@yahoo.com
Hasta Pronto!

By the way, what is the reason for articles about Indy Media being prohibited from posting to the site? Just curiuos, especially since they harbor such anarchist's views. Shouldn't we be exposing them?
