There are two ways to look at this. You want her canned, which is understandable. You could also argue that it's good to keep her on TV so people can here the anti-American hateful lib views. That can be really beneficial to our cause, especially when it can be contrasted in real time by the conservative perspective. To me, that's the beauty of her being on FOX. Any other show and she would run free and unchallenged in any real way. I have to believe that when reasonable people can contrast and compare between a Congressman Billybob and a Ratner, we win the debate of ideas. Kick her off FOX and she goes to another show that won't provide that balance -- which is what we've had for years and years.
Far be it from me to offer advice to someone who has a lot more experience at this than me, but I would bet you $20 that you could really get her goat by sincerely congratulating her for the renewal and adding that the people of the US REALLY need to keep hearing her extreme views and bankrupt ideology bec it makes conservatives look even better. She would HATE that.
I've read the posts on this thread, especially yours, and have changed my opinion on Ratner's presence on air. Y'all are right and I was wrong. As the engineers say, "Nothing is ever a total failure. It can always serve as a bad example." So as vile as Ellen Ratner and her opinions are, my position in being on-air with her in the future will be exactly as you suggest. I will repeatedly cite her as an example of why hard-core Democrats are fools, deserve to lose, and will lose. Occasionally I will congratulate her for her excellence in entirely missing the point.
Since I will get a shot at Ratner (for about 10 minutes) almost every Thursday morning on "American Breakfast," perhaps I can do some good by taking this approach. Thank you for contributing to my education.
