Drudge is just making mischief. I read many months ago that Frum and his wife were on the make, and the WH knew it. Bush has known for a long time that David Frum was highly unlikely to ever adhere to a "no grandstanding" order.
What's really instructive is to consider how paltry the pickings of dissension and scandal are in this WH, to the point where mudrakers are reduced to ginning up as scandalous appearances by former staffers on talking head shows. In comparison, by this time in the Clinton administration, one dead body and several mind blowing scandals had already been delivered to the meat eaters in the press corps.

how paltry the pickings of dissension and scandal are in this WHSo true. And the potentially large impact of this on voters is totally lost on the pundits, who with their craving for things to talk about see no virtue in their absence.

And look at the "scandals" that the ex-staffer is coming up with. Bush is not always a nice guy to work for. Boo hoo, cry me a river because the boss won't be his beer-buddy.
And I'm waiting for this guy's brilliant essay on how to handle N. Korea. I'm sure it'll be totally underwhelming. Probably whining that we're not helping their starving citizens enough and that Bush will make a diplomatic breakthrough if he goes to Korea and kisses Kim Jong Il's shoes.

You are right, this is just Drudge being Drudge. From has to say something that will get him on the Rat Lover shows like Today. Not to worry.
You are so right about the White House being a scandal free zone. Ain`t it nice to have the adults back in charge?

Thinking exactly the same thing. Speechwriter, basically pro-Bush, wants to promote his new book (which is pro-Bush). Trading on his time in the WH by writing a book! Shocking! The press must really be frustrated to run with this non-story.
