You are right, this is just Drudge being Drudge. From has to say something that will get him on the Rat Lover shows like Today. Not to worry.

You are so right about the White House being a scandal free zone. Ain`t it nice to have the adults back in charge?

Hopefully GWB is realizing that if your friends are smug little neo-cons, you won't need any enemies.

So Frum left the White House shortly after the "Axis of Evil" speech? Was that the reason he left?

The current equivalent would be giving Daniel Pipes or Bernard Lewis a great say in how to deal with the Middle East.

I understand Bernard Lewis advises the administration all the time.

RANDOM HOUSE has printed 125,000 copies of the book. The TODAY SHOW has reserved a money slot for Frum on Tuesday morning. And with North Korea/Iraq currently on the covers of both NEWSWEEK and TIME: Enter the speechwriter.

Just how many copies of the books by the Clinton's have been printed for which they were advanced $20,000,000 some two years ago.

Doubtful the 'white house' gives a moment's thought to this guy or his book. After all, Woodward did a fine job and the media has given Woodward their imprimatur. They are hardly likely to say Woodward was wrong if this book is materially different in it's characterization.

Frum will be using up his 15 minutes of fame next weekend on C-SPAN II. Some more "background noise" while our PRESIDENT is protecting our freedom.

I stopped over at Lucianne.com to see what she had to say about this book. She said the book is excellent and very pro-Bush. We shall see, I guess.

I haven't notice GWB liking us (conservatives) that much either...

Sometimes I get that feeling too.

Then I think of what we had for 8 years and it helps a little.

"Bush was a sharp exception to the White House code of niceness. He was tart, not sweet," charges Frum.

I think what this gentleman objects to is that the Pres isn't a touchy-feely-type or suffers fools gladly.

Pres Bush is a leader and projects a masculine personna. Liberals hate that.

So this Frum is a Canadian? How the hell and why does he get into this country and seek being a voice in American policy? I am amazed by Peter Jennings because the man is the biggest snob, liberal scum trying to make himself important by escaping Canada and working his way into American affairs. What the hell is the Bush team doing having Frum involved in writing some speeches??!!

This is yet another bogus report by Drudge.

Here is the review of this book:

David Frum helped make international headlines when President George W. Bush's 2002 State of the Union address linked international terrorists to Iran, Iraq, and North Korea in an "axis of evil." But that was only one moment during one of the most crucial times in American history, when a president, an administration, and a country were transformed.

David Frum's political commentary has been described by William F. Buckley as "the most refreshing ideological experience in a generation." Now, in The Right Man, Frum becomes a front-row observer and participant. With honest admiration for President Bush, Frum tells the story of a remarkable year in the life of an American president as he witnessed it. Writes Frum: "Bush is no lightweight. He is rather a very unfamiliar sort of heavyweight. But he did not become a heavyweight all at once. The Right Man is the story of how he grew -- how his administration followed -- and what the consequences of this evolution will be for the future of American politics."

Not since Peggy Noonan's portrait of Ronald Reagan has an insider portrayed a sitting president with such precision and insight. The Right Man will command international attention for its thoughtful portrait of George W. Bush in the midst of his greatest challenge.

Synopsis:
With honest admiration for George W. Bush, the presidential speech writer credited with the phrase "axis of evil" tells the story of a remarkable year in the life of an American president as he witnessed it. In "The Right Man, " Frum becomes a front-row observer of a new president in the midst of his greatest challenge.

Doesn't sound ANYTHING at all like Drudge has portrayed it; and Laura Ingraham and a LOT of other conservatives are pushing it on their web sites. I doubt they'd do that if it was a prissy book.

I don't believe Brian Lamb is in the habit of having trash such as Drudge has described on his site.

Another Drudge Sunday Night Dud.

What I don't know is whether or not the taping at the Manhattan Institute has already taken place. I doubt it. The MI is friendly territory I believe.
