This is interesting. I wonder if the plants can be commercially grown; I also wonder if I could get some seeds! Ha!

Hoodia and the Blowfish.

"I also wonder if I could get some seeds! Ha!" Let me know if you do, I could use a 'touch' of this stuff too. (Ahem)

Oh no, don't even think about growing it yourself. You will infringe on the corporate growing rights of a government taxable sponsor.
The bushmen eat this stuf non-processed, that is the way the tubby's should eat it. Oh well it will make someone rich and (snicker) fat.

"Hoodia and the Blowfish." LOL
Now, wait a minute. Won't the blowfish kill you when eaten?

Reminds me of the crown-of-thorns (a Madagascar species) I had for a time about 22 years back. Nice, but it wanted more sun than my apartment windows offered.
To: Miss Marple
Oh yes, seeds, I hadn't thought of that. I was just thinking I'll have to keep hauling this big butt around until 2007. ha ha

I also wonder if I could get some seeds! If it works, it will be outlawed or taxed to oblivion. They did it to tobacco, coca leaves, you name it. Someone will abuse the active ingredient, and that will be that.

I'm not not not not not going to say anything with "sapphire" in it. I remember Trent Lott.

Seeds are available from a variety of sources. The complication is two-fold:
1. I do not know which variety this one is, and it might make a difference.
2. The plant requires a warm climate (Zone 10-11 in the USA) and I would need a greenhouse here to grow it.
Rats.
To: dennisw
Ah, but are these the variety described in the article? there are several varieties of hoodia.
