Just wondering, Sen. Lugar introduced me to Sen. Nunn once, I sort of liked him, for a democrat.

Are you the same poster that knocked McConnell for forcing Fletcher to pick a McConnell person as his running-mate? If you are, I guess you don't want McConnell as Senate Majority Leader.

What an irony that would be if he wins -- his father was the last Republican Gov of KY, back in the 60's I think.

Yes, you are correct Sir, My Papaw has a Kentucky Colonels Certificate Signed by Louie B. I hope one day to be a Colonel with a Republican Gov's signature on my certificate. I wouldn't give a warm bucket of spit for anything signed by that Clinton Clone from Pike Co even though Im from that area.

Congressman Fletcher wasn't forced to pick anyone. That's a load of bull.

So are we facing a Nunn-Fletcher primary, with McConnell behind Fletcher???? Louie B. Nunn's name became synonymous with defeat in KY after he turned over the governorship to a Democrat, Wendell Ford, late in 1971. He lost the Senate race in 1972 by a narrow margin and then failed badly in his attempt to regain the governorship in 1979. The GOP was also fractured during the first Nunn era. Democrats usualy win the KY governorship whether the GOP is fractured or not. However, 2003 looks like a GOP year in KY unless the boys self-destruct again.

With all due respect, it's a Virgil Moore-Ernie Fletcher-Steve Nunn-John Coburn-Sonny Landham-Bert Minton primary, with maybe more candidates, if Rebecca Jackson and Joe Lambert make runs.

But since this is a "Steve Nunn" thread, please check out this link which discusses Steve Nunn's pre-filed bill in Frankfort, which is another massive, expensive, and intrusive so-called health bill. The purpose of this bill is to do away with Kentucky laws dealing with the privacy of our medical records in order to create a national health information system, under the guise of creating a better health care system.

I have heard of only Fletcher and Nunn. Are the other candidates lesser known? The winner of the primary will be by plurality.
