I can think of other, more offensive stuff in malls

Yes, like permitting stores to sell shoddy, over-priced goods made by slave shop workers in third world countries.

Since the contract would have been written by the Mall Owner's Attorney the clause is in there.

Since the mall owner owner does not have a crystal ball to see into the future, I seriously doubt that political censorship ever entered his mind when he got a standard boiler-plate rental agreement drawn up.

Such a clause in a rental agreement would be a lighting rod for civil rights lawsuits.........

"As the Mall is patronized mostly by white, conservative patrons, the Mall owner reserves the right to evict any store owner that sells merchandise or books such as, for example, Malcolm X books and T-shirts, that white patrons find offensive".

Such a clause would never fly.

Unless, of course, you claim that it would fly if you change "conservative" to "liberal", change "white" to "black" and change "Malcolm X" to "Confederate".

Is that legal? I mean if the conderate flag hasnt been made illegal...then this person has a legitamate business enterprise. I therefore would sue everyone who moves on this one.!

Agreement bump.

I'd like to see that mall toss someone for selling cigarettes, furs, or puppies.

Or Seventy-Four Ranch Beef.

How about Demon Rum? -- Hell, I'd boycott the mall if it didn't sell John Barleycorn!

Everybody's got an opinion, but if only one guy gets tossed for his, then what's that? How about, "Crow Jim"?

I'm calm ... does anyone remember the words to "Rebel Soldier," I've got a gap ? ...

"Three hundred thousand Yankees,
we killed or nearabout,
(something, something)...
They died from Southern fevers,
Or Southern steel and shot.
I wisht it was three million,
Instead of what we got!"

"I fought with ol' Marse Robert
For four years near about.
Got wounded in three places,
and starved at Point Lookout.
I've got the rheumatism,
from sleepin' in the snow.
But I killed a chanct' o' Yankees,
I wish I'd killed some more!"

You know Kay, I am offended by that remark. Really offended. To compare those noble men who fought for the Southern Confederacy with Osama is beyond the pale. You do not know what you are talking about, miss Soze.

I'm just glad I already bought some Dixie Outfitters products--a Jackson shirt for my son, a Varina Davis Southern Heroine shirt for my daughter, and for me a First National to hang in front of my house with my Gadsden flag. But maybe I need to visit their website and buy a few more things to show solidarity with them.

God bless and protect Dixie.

Less than 15 seconds on Google:

GOOD OL' REBEL SOLDIER by Major Innes Randolph, C.S.A.

Oh, I'm a good old Rebel soldier, now that's just what I am;
For this "Fair Land of Freedom" I do not give a damn!
I'm glad I fit against it, I only wish we'd won,
And I don't want no pardon for anything I done.

I hates the Constitution, this "Great Republic," too!
I hates the Freedman's Bureau and uniforms of blue!
I hates the nasty eagle with all its brags and fuss,
And the lying, thieving Yankees, I hates 'em wuss and wuss!

I hates the Yankee nation and everything they do,
I hates the Declaration of Independence, too!
I hates the "Glorious Union" -- 'tis dripping with our blood,
And I hates their striped banner, and I fit it all I could.

I followed old Marse Robert for four years, near about,
Got wounded in three places, and starved at Point Lookout.
I cotched the "roomatism" a'campin' in the snow,
But I killed a chance o' Yankees, and I'd like to kill some mo'!

Three hundred thousand Yankees is stiff in Southern dust!
We got three hundred thousand before they conquered us.
They died of Southern fever and Southern steel and shot,
But I wish we'd got three million instead of what we got.

I can't take up my musket and fight 'em now no more,
But I ain't a'gonna love 'em, now that's for sartain sure!
I do not want no pardon for what I was and am,
And I won't be reconstructed, and I do not care a damn!

And here is a different version (take your pick):

Good Old Rebel Soldier
(Major Innes Randolph)

I was born down south in Louisiana, fifty miles from New Orleans
I was raised to be a Southern man, shot full of Cajun steam
when the war broke out in ‘61, I knew I had to go
and fight those Yankees to the end, and save my family’s home.

I fought the Union army, Gen. Lee was in command,
got wounded in four places till I could hardly stand
and I nearly froze to death one night outside of Lynchburg town,
but it takes more than a little cold to bring a rebel down.

Three hundred thousand Yankees fell down on southern soil,
yeah, we took 300,000, before they conquered us.
and they died of Southern fever, Southern shot; and southern steel
And if we‘d a had just one more year, we‘d made those bastards kneel.

A year the war’s been over now, a year of wounded pride
there’s nothing left here for a man who fought with the losing side
The Carpetbaggers run this land, and as soon as I can go,
I’m gonna saddle my horse, pack up my gun, and head for Mexico

I can't take up my musket now, and fight them anymore,
But I won‘t bend to any man, and that‘s one thing for sure
And I won’t ask no pardon, for what I was and what I am;
And I won't be reconstructed, no,
And I don’t give a damn.

Me too, like the mall rats strutting their hardware:

Reminds me of the big flap over Maurice Bessinger's sauce here in South Carolina a couple years back. A few days after Wal-Mart had pulled his products from their shelves because they found his views "offensive,'' I walked into one of their stores and the first thing I saw was an in-store television playing a Brittany Spears' video. Still makes me shake my head and wonder what the heck is going on today.

Thank'ee, sir! Says it all, doesn't it? Down with the *&^&* that can't live with our history! It's not all good, of course not, but it's what happened.

Well, I hate anything that reeks of "tyranny of the minority" and I hate its enablers, like this guy Nolan who caved so quickly. I hope the people in Mobile have another mall they can go to for their Christmas shopping.

Really, I hate to go to the mall with all the naked pictures and clothes like "Playboy." My son, bless his heart, says, "Oh, look, that girl's going to nurse her baby!" But I wish they'd put some clothes on!

Maybe a Rebel Flag t-shirt, or "Don't blame me, I voted for Jeff Davis!"

I've bought Maurice's ever since Wal-Mart banned his sauce. It's good stuff. Executives said they only work with suppliers who share the same views as Wal-Mart. Doesn't say much for their vendors in Red China.

The irony in this case is that all the mall shops in my town carry porno tapes, DVDs, foul-mouthed music, obscene gifts, etc. Shootfire, the prices of stuff in the mall just might be the most offensive thing of all! But, Dixie Outfitters' shirts are hardly the most offensive product in the mall.

I might just have to buy a few more Dixie Outfitter t-shirts this year and support my local Southerners : )
