Educrats Tear Down Christmas
Every December there are stories galore of how anti-religious zealots censor the Christian and Jewish holy days. Here's a new low: The government schools in Yonkers, N.Y., have ripped children's artwork right off the walls.
Interim Superintendent Angelo Petrone ordered underlings last week to remove all decorations that go beyond a vague "Happy Holidays" or "Season's Greetings," the Associated Press reported today.
PTA member Marla Hurban said teachers scrapped lesson plans involving Christmas and Hanukkah decorations and took down bulletin boards loaded with children's artwork.
When word of the order began to spread, "anybody who heard it thought it was a joke at first," said Amanda Pendleton, who has a daughter in fifth grade. "Then they had to literally tear everything off the walls."

They could have simply refused to obey. Resistance to tyrants is obedience to God.

I guess so much of it depends upon the school. At my son's school yesterday, they had a very detailed lesson about Hannukah (probably only 5% Jewish at his school). Today they were supposed to bring their favorite Christmas or holiday book. I sent with him a wonderful book called "Santa's Favorite Story", which does a fabulous job teaching the true meaning of Christmas. The front of the school has a beautiful tree, all of the classes "adopt a family", and all next week, they have lots of Christmas-themed activities.

BTW, this is a public, not private school.

The ACLU is busy with the "greater good."

There was an even lower percentage of Jewish students where I went to school (There were 3 in my h.s. graduating class, which was on the high side. While in grade school, I usually taught my class about Chanukah. I even got interviewed about it for a local weekly when I was 8-years-old or so. Worked for me.

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or
prohibiting the free exercise thereof ..." This man and his organization are not above the law! Angelo Petrone? How far from the Truth?
