Just got my phone/modem back for the SECOND time.....after 36 hours this time and missed all of Saturday's news and Freeper time. Yesterday, the operator assured me that it would be on by 6:25pm, but by midnight I still couldn't get on here.

The Landrieu victory and this Clinton travesty (as usual) is too much. Easley was shown on TV in Charlotte when he visited "in his PERSONAL helicopter". What's with this? WE paid for it, didn't we? I really, really despise these people.

MY GUT FEELING IS IT IS HEAVILY PRO CLINTONISTAS).

No, I don't subscribe - stopped the subscription back during the N&O's trashing of Clarence Thomas (shold have stopped it much sooner).

Sadly - most people locally still take this paper but the Durham Herald Sun has made some strong showings in the area - but it's short on local news and obits.

People have to tell me who has died recently because I simply refuse to read or buy the N&O unless there is no other option whatsoever.

(You are right - CM - I could do not want nauseation this early in the AM. And, yes, everything Clinton does is fake - why not being with little children - when he could care less about little children.

President Bush, of course, adores little children and they respond in kind! (You can't fool dogs or little children).

Anyway - Old Friend - I have had it confirmed to me again today that the hard copy article said that Progess Energy's local company, CP&L, did have the power restored to the area of this homeowner who hosted the Democratic "fundraiser" - but it was a small area and the surrounding areas were NOT so "empowered".

This was A REQUEST BY DEMOCRATIC OFFICIALS TO THE POWER COMPANY WITH WHICH THEY COMPLIED JUST FOR THE CLINTON SPEECH AND JUST SO IT COULD BE HELD AT THIS LADY'S HOME!

Elsewhere in the city - nearby - the Mayor of Raleigh - another Demrat - was nowhere to be found.....WHERE WERE YOU, MAYOR MEEKER? AND WHERE WERE YOU, MAYOR LANGE? (ANOTHER DEMRAT FROM CARY).

Clinton the Bible quoter is the form of Clinton I most detest. I knew that Clinton was a person consumed with self-promotion and power when I heard his Bible quoting at the 1992 Democratic Convention.

Boy Clinton replaced GOD, with WE.....some would say this is a minor offense, but I would ask what kind of person is it, what is a person capable of, who would KNOWINGLY misquote scripture, and REMOVE the word God, to be replaced by WE?

Yes, the myth of being "for the people" only continues because of media complicity. Both have a special place in hell reserved for them.

My daughter STILL does not have power as thousands of others here in NC do not either. Thankfully, I do and she's sleeping at my house and commuting to Charlotte to her job. GRRRRRRRRRRRrr

Yes, it should make the thousands of N. Carolinians still shivering terribly angry. Specific request for power to the home (and surrounding - small area) of the person hosting the Clinton speech...while thousands of other NC'ers continue to shiver and freeze.

The sad thing is most will have likely missed this news..unless they happen upon Free Republic.
