THE BALKANS: KLA commander arrested for anti-Serb War crimes

November 26, 2002; On November 25 UNMIK arrested a former KLA commander, Gani Ymeri, on suspicion of kidnapping and attempted murder. His alleged crimes occurred in June 1999 in a predominantly Kosovar Serb village (Gojbulja). A KFOR report said Ymeri is also a commander of the KPC. A subsequent wire service report speculated that the ICTY may be about to indict one (or several) ethnic Albanians for war crimes committed in Kosovo from 1998-1999. UNMIK, however, reported that the Ymeri arrest was not related to an ICTY investigation. The election of moderate Kosovar Albanian leader Ibrahim Rugova does give UNMIK more political leeway to deal with some of the KLA extremists (many of whom are tied to smuggling and racketeering operations).

some of the KLA extremists (many of whom are tied to smuggling and racketeering operations).

And to well known American politicians, like Senators Lieberman and Dole, ex-President Clinton and Ex-VP Gore, Sen. McCain, ret. General Clark, and so an and so forth.

What's a Kosovar Serb?

Do they mean a person of Serbian extraction living in the Serbian province of Kosovo?

It is a term used to describe a Serbian man that lives in the NATO occupation zone of Kosovo.

On the day of the Serbian army withdraw a man gives up his right to be refered to as Serbian. He is given an ethnicity to what ever is most convinient to NATO.

So you have a Bosnian Serb, Croatian Serb, Kosovar Serb and so on.

If you want to be called just a Serb then the reference "nationalist who wants Greater Serbia" is attached.

Kosovo is the the actual heartland of Serbia. This PC usage makes as much sense as saying an "Iowan American." During the tenure of a certain herpes-infected cocaine addict who, through a series of clerical errors and the machinations of an ugly troll named Ross Perot, became President of these United states, it became fashionable to refer to Yugoslavs of Albanian extraction living in the Yugoslavian and then Serbian province of Kosovo as "ethnic Albanians." as if there were another kind. Of course there are Serbian residents of Kosovo. It is part of Serbia, as Texas and California are part of the US..

Over the past 50 years, Albanians became the majority in this Serbian province, in much the same way Mexicans are becoming the majority in Texas and California. Let us profouindly hope our resident Mexicans to not take it into their heads to constitute some sort of 'Greater Mexico,' based on the model the Muslim Albanians are now using to 'ethnically cleanse' the Christian Serbs in Kosovo

I'm curious, why all of a sudden all of these arrest of Albanians? Are they worried about something? How about guilt? Maybe they finally realized they backed the wrong side? NAAAA

Fascinating, if it comes to be. Maybe, just maybe, western governments will finally come around and admit Slobo was right.

they have already admitted that President Milosevic and the Yugoslav people were right in fighting the KLA jihadists......since GWB was elected virtually the entire KLA leadership cadre has been arrested.....a big change from when Clinton was busy sending the KLA a few hundred million of US taxpayer's money.

Clinton promoted the likes of Remi and Ramush to MajorGenerals and paid them accordingly. GWB rightfully threw these murderes in prison.

I don't know. All I know is that he was KPC Regional Commander, Vucitrn, and he was arrested for crimes against Serbs. I thought they arrested him a long time ago? Wraith may know more about him.

if this clown was KLA commander in/around Vucitrn that would mean he is one of the top killers in the KLA. Vucitrn was the locale where many neutralist Albanians were murdered before, during, and after Clinton's bombing.

Whether he was KLA commander in/around Vucitrn at that time, I don't know. All I know is about his KPC tenure as Regional Commander, Vucitrn. Guess we'll have to wait for Wraith or someone who knows Kosovo better than I.
