VATICAN CITY, NOV. 20, 2002 (Zenit.org).- John Paul II received New York Mets baseball catcher Mike Piazza who, overwhelmed, fell to his knees.
The American ballplayer, whose family is of Sicilian origin, drew a broad smile from the Pope today when he gave him a baseball shirt at the end of the general audience.
Piazza is currently traveling in Europe to promote baseball.

New York Mets baseball catcher Mike Piazza who, overwhelmed, fell to his knees. Oh, it's SO tempting. So very tempting. But I'll let it pass.

I have a gardening web site, for those who have veggie gardensOh, it's SO tempting. So very tempting. But I'll let it pass.
People who live in glass greenhouses shouldn't throw rocks. Is the stereotype about male gardeners being lite in the loafers true?

I wonder which name they stitched on the back . . . and was the jersey-number number one?

Cardinals fan that I am, I've always liked Piazza.
Viva JPII!

Pope Finds a Fan in Mets Catcher Mike Piazza What other appliances did the Pope find in people visiting him? Maybe a toaster and a blender too?

Wow, winging green tomatos with a limp wrist. How unimpressive. History is full of switch hitters masquerading as married men.

Hell, I don't think Piazza is gay. But I'm only the thousandth person to make a joke about it. And I didn't even make the joke, I only alluded to it. I hope you have called plenty of other Freepers gay when they did this. At least I won't feel so singled out.
