Quite right, DFU. The Catholic church needs to identify those politicians who defy basic deep held tenets of the church while claiming membership. People tend to trust Catholics, they are good risks, but Nancy is no Catholic, even though she might attend Mass.

Isn't it amazing that these people think that they are being "big hearted" by giving women the choice to keep or kill their unborn babies? Did they consider whether the "Babies" want to be aborted? Does the "Unborn Babies" have a choice on whether it wants to come into this world dead or alive?

To me, "choice", when it comes to giving birth or commiting infanticide, tells me that abortionist don't want to take the responsibility of raising their child because it will "cramp" their style, "limit" their freedom, make them "take on" responsibilities that they don't "feel" they can handle yet, and THAT gives them the "right" to kill their baby in the womb.

They should be asked this question: Would you have been happy if your mother had decided to have an abortion while she was carrying YOU in her womb? Hmmmmmm?

Parents who have shown to the adoption agency that they are stable - physically, mentally, and financially, and would give the baby a good and loving home. I am baffled by Catholics like Pelosi who support abortion and homosexuality. Both of these have been clearly and logicly and broadly condemned by the Church leadership, including most of the US bishops.

My sister is one of these, or at least she used to be. I think she may have rethought her position, though I've not talked to her about it in many years. (Amazing what becoming a mom can do...) Unlike Pelosi, though, my sister would never have thought to call herself a "conservative Catholic"... she was unabashedly liberal.

It is important to recognize that most Catholics are not in agreement with Pelosi. The Right-To-Life movement is replete with solid Catholic supporters and workers, and in fact in my area Catholics form the base of the movement. One of my church friends spends most of her free time working against abortion, and has dozens of folks in church working with her. Hypocrites like Pelosi debase the fine work these people do.

This public figure Pelosi-type "Catholic" must be strongly condemned by the Church for exactly the reasons you state in your letter.

That will take care of a lot of Catholics.. The majority of Catholics are pro life until they get in the voting booth and then they vote Democrat for the social programs they all love so well.

I have asked so many why they vote Democrat when their church puts all those little crosses out front of the church to represent aborted babies.. Their answer is always the same. " Yea I know but the democrats give us so many other things." It's about the time of year for the little grave markers to go up again.
