Can't be done without just compensation. What is the big deal?

Some people don't want to sell.
They want the farm that's been in their families for years.
Do you think it's right when the Government comes to your door and says "You're moving. Here's what we think your property is worth. Kiss your land good bye. Get out!"

BTTT,

I've finished writing Zell and Max. I don't expect much from Max. I'll follow up with a call during the week.

Can't be done without just compensation. What is the big deal?

They destroy the property value first, and then pay a pittance on its former worth. They mismange it in the name of protecting nature and it is usually soon overwhelmed with exotic species. It's the big corporations that fund the environmental movement now because they can buy off the politicians and the profits go up because their competition is out of business. It's nothing short of highly organized crime.

No big deal, eh?

Get with the program. Contrary to the pitch, Federal land ownership isn't good for land, the economy, or a free society.

". Isn't there anyone up there with any common sense? "

Anybody with common sense stays as far away from these a-h0les as possible. So the answer is no.

S990 is Title 3 of CARA. Although there is some money in the bill for procurment, the Land and Water Conservation Fund(LWCF) was, is, and will always be the source of money which the feds and the states split to buy property.

In the CARA compromise of 2000, Congress committed to fund LWCF at 100% allowable for 7 years. This amount is $ 900 million per year which the feds and the states split. Bush was able to make some changes when he came into office. He managed to get Congress to allow $ 50 million for 2002 and $100 million for 2003 to be diverted from the federal portion of LWCF into grants to private landowners for conservation.

Anybody that gets worked up over S990 is poorly informed. LWCF is what should be stopped.

Never fear. These lands are being preserved for all the illegals who soon will have title to the country. Or maybe this is where they plan on putting the rest of us.

Remember how Bob Dole did this to end the showdown with Clinton in 95? Everyone was gone so Dole on his own voted to end it.

Can Bush still veto this?

Of course. You're deluding yourself however if you think he'll veto this bill.

Boy, you got that right. We are going to pay some big prices for banning partial birth abortion. Wait till you see what we have to pay to get some "conservative" judges appointed. But that's okay, the republicans control the senate.

They seem to be able to and I've never understood it without a quorum either. When Brady was passed by the Senate it was just before Thanksgiving break and 4 were there...Bob Dole, Mark Hatfied (R)Oregon, and 2 demoncrats that I can't recall right now. The 4 voted for it.

As I have said a number of times on this forum, the federal government should federalize all assets of the land grab NGOs. Then it should turn that land over to the states. I have no use for federal or private land grabs. It should end this very momment. It should have never been instigated.

Bob Smith has just ruined whatever legacy he had. There isn't a conservative supporter who will forgive and forget this cr-p.
