Here is an article written in 1998 at the Islamic Supreme Council website, which talks about Bin Laden having bought 20 nuclear warheads. It's four pages, too long to post, but here is the link ( it's in Adobe format)

http://www.islamicsupremecouncil.org/extremism/RadicalMovements/UBL/Bin%20Ladens%20Nuclear%20Weapons.pdf

"Al-Watan al-Arabi, an Arabic language newsmagazine, reports that worldwide terrorist mastermind Usama bin Laden has used two tons of opium and $30 millio n to purc hase over twenty nuc lear warheads.

Bin Laden has hired an international team of rogue nuclear scientists working in a sec ret undergro und base to convert warheads stolen from former Soviet republics
into miniature portable nuclear devices capable of striking targets around the globe.

The newsmagazine further states that bin Laden developed ties with the mafias of former Soviet republics during the Afghan War which provided him the key to obtaining nuclear missile warheads from the disintegrating USSR."

Russia's Missing Nukes at http://www.ransac.org/new-web-site/related/congress/hearings/suitcasebombs.html

Excerpts:

House Committee of National Security Allegations of Russia's Missing Suitcase Bombs

October 1-2, 1997

In September 1997, General Alexander Lebed made international headlines with his allegations that over 100 small atomic demolition munitions were missing from the Russian nuclear arsenal. He asserted that the weapons were perfect terrorist devices as they were designed to resemble an ordinary suitcase and could be detonated by a single person with less than 30-minutes preparation. Any one of them, he warned, could kill 100,000 people.
