Web panhandler pays off $20,000 debt

NEW YORK (AP) -- After an 18-month bacchanal buying Manolo Blahnik, Gucci and Prada, Karyn Bosnak found herself unemployed and more than $20,000 in credit card debt.

When the 29-year-old spotted a sign in a supermarket with an odd request -- "Wanted: $7,000 To Pay Off Debt" -- it made perfect sense. The television producer launched a similar appeal to a much larger audience: the World Wide Web.

The stupidity of some people really baffles me sometimes. This freeloader doesn't deserve a dime.

Even better, the collected money was tax-free -- considered a gift, according to the Internal Revenue Service.

If this isn't the icing on the freaking cake!!

Must be nice, huh? Rack up thousands in debt, and then ask for donations to pay it off. Maybe we should all do this.

You have to give her credit, though. She actually conned enough stupid people to give her the money.
