There are, of course, conservative ideologues and political junkies...

And these are the most pathetic people I know.

Sitting for hours on end in front of a computer screen, Irish whiskey and fine cigar in hand, posting comments to political websites, uploading unflattering pictures of tofu-munching Democrats and making smartass observations about self-centered, dimwitted and laughable leftists and liberals is hardly a productive way to spend one's down time.

I'm just grateful I'm not one of these pathetic slobs.

"Because he is not an ideologue, Mr. Bush is unlikely overreach, so he won't flame out in the heat of his own success.."

A major typo on this portion of the article, but you get the message. On the other hand, lib/dems don't get this message and want everyone to fear Bush, think he is a right-wing freak, and one who is always overreaching in his bloodthirst. They'll just never get it that there never really was a 'man from Hope'....but there is a real 'man from Midland'......

Because he is not an ideologue, Mr. Bush is unlikely overreach, so he won't flame out in the heat of his own success, as Newt Gingrich did.

His dad isn't an ideologue and he sure didn't overreach, but he flamed out nonetheless.

When will conservatives learn not to count their burgers before they're built? There's no guarantee we'll be in charge of anything in two years.

WOW! Nice one, knighthawk!

I love this publication. Too bad about their military, though...

Five times as many registered Democrats as Republicans live in Maryland

Actually, Democrats outnumber Republicans in Maryland by a little less than 2 to 1 (according to the Maryland Board of Elections web site.)

Even 2 to 1 makes Ehrlich's victory impressive, but why is it that the press can't get even the most basic facts right?

In Massachusetts, another supposed liberal stronghold, the Republicans enjoyed a similarly comfortable gubernatorial upset.

The gentleman needs to read up on the Commonwealth's history. Numerous Republicans have enjoyed the title "His Excellency, the Governor of Massachusetts".

I especially remember John Volpe from when I was a kid. If I recall correctly, Volpe was Governor, and lost re-election when it was revealed that, mysteriously, numerous of the then-newly constructed Interstate construction contracts went to his brother. Then, 4 years later, he was re-elected when a number of road construction projects were found to have been done improperly (substandard materials and methods), none of which were his brother's.

Any one who has had teenagers knows the drill that parents go through. The kids get mouthy, demand more and more things, stop helping around the house and generally try to make life miserable for the entire family. Then when you finally put your foot down, ground them, take TV away, withold their allowance, they start acting like human beings again.

That is what happened to those spoiled Democrats Tuesday. Their American parents put their foot down. Stop acting like spoiled brats, lieing, stealing, calling names.
