I agree with you on Tony Dean and the Rinos. I've heard of lots of people who voted for Johnson to keep Daschle in power. Hope they are happy.

I also think the fraud on the Rez is true, not a rumor. I know people who worked the polls there and they said they've never seen anything like it. Among other things, I do think the Dems bribed voters. I've also heard the reason the registration numbers were so inflated is because they bused people in, let them live there a couple of months, then registered them.

I also know four people who got actual absentee ballots in the mail that they didn't request, some for people that didn't exist. That's just in my circle of acquaintences, so there are probably many more floating around as well. They also caught more questionable absentee ballots at the polls (there were 79 fake ballot requests caught before the election in my county alone.)

I talked to my parents today, who still live on the Rez. They think that all of this is being quietly investigated and that Thune won't push to have a recount because he will go after Daschle in 2004. I think people who don't live in this state don't understand how delicate an issue this is. If the Republicans try for a recount or an investigation the Dems will play the race card like you won't believe. There is a lot of racial tension here, and I think the Dems will not hesitate to use that to their advantage.

I'm not saying they shouldn't do something about the fraud, they have to, but they have to be very careful how they go about it. Just my opinion.

you make a lot of sense.....

we do have to ask first and foremost why the rest of the state who we would think would be conservative did not go hook, line and sinker for Thune and instead, made the Res. voters the ones with the power....

we also have to question why Thune did not campaign more and yes....make more promises...that's the way the game is played.....and reassure the Indian voters...

But on the other hand, I don't know how you hand someone a six year term when there already has been documented proof of fraud endeavors....

What assurance would Thune have that SD RINOs wouldn't vote for Daschole to have the minority leader continue to 'represent' them rather than replace him with a junior senator of questionable political acumen in 2004 particularly since they've already proved how anxious they have been to sell out their party in 2002 on a fool's gamble?

Sounds like Thune had better suck it up and make the most of whatever Senatorial opportunity may be at hand rather than demonstrate that he is as soft in the head as SD RINOs are in general.
