The family has maintained someone kidnapped the Shining Light Baptist Academy eighth-grader. Despite reaffirming that belief Monday, David Dixon said he doesn't plan to hire a private investigator. "The High Point police have told me if they do come across anything else, they would keep me informed," Dixon said. "I'm going to leave it at that."

I hope he changes his mind. If his boy was kidnapped and murdered or released to die accidentally, what is to prevent this from happening to someone else's child? If it was MY son, I'd want to KNOW beyond a shadow of a doubt that what happened to my child was truly an accident, even if all the circumstances surrounding his death could not be explained. If there was a suspicion that someone had a hand in his death, why should that person or persons go about their lives without fear of discovery?

What was the degree of decomposition to the body? Had it truly been in that location the whole time he was missing? May the truth come out.

Yes, I have always maintained that it would be better to err on the side of being wrong in calling it an abduction, at the very least for the sake of community safety. There could be a perp belly laughing at those saying it was an accident or runaway.
