My Marine jet-jockey brother terminated his service rather than take the anthrax shots. And folks called us tin-foilers back then for not trusting our benevolent gummint.

I was home on emergency leave for a sister's funeral when the fellows in my basic training outfit were made to walk through an area immediately after an atomic bomb test. I doubt any of them are alive today.
