FROM RUSH - DID TERRENCE PLOT HAITIAN OCTOBER SURPRISE?
Rush Limbaugh website ^ | 10/31.02 | Rush Limbaugh

Posted on 10/31/2002 6:03:25 AM PST by Elkiejg

At the close of Hour Two, I broke the Haitian boatpeople story this way: "Two hundred and fourteen new Democrats arrived in Florida just in time to vote next Tuesday." They claim that this was a "freighter," but if that was a freighter, I'm a tadpole. The news likewise reported that these people couldn't swim ashore, when it looked like there was about 12 feet of water out there.

The angle here is that Haitians are sent back to their homeland, unlike Cuban refugees. Now, I thought Haiti was fixed. This is one of the policies George H. W. Bush had and Bill Clinton campaigned against in 1992, but that Clinton intensified as president. They sent Jimmy Carter down there to spread a little malaise on the situation, remember? In light of all that, this seems awfully contrived, does it not?

I can't help but think of DNC head Terry McAuliffe saying that he would do whatever it took to defeat Jeb Bush in next week's election - not because he's a bad governor, but just to embarrass the Bush family. I can't help but wonder if this isn't an October Surprise designed to put the screws to Jeb and energize the African-American voters. I would keep a close eye out for facts on this.

It's important to point out that I think people who go in for conspiracy theories are fools, but this is suspicious. The early reports said they spent 18 days at sea and the people were disheveled. But then the New York Times said the trip took eight days, and you can see that the people do not look like they've been at sea for this length of time. I have no proof of this. This is just my intelligence guided by experience – especially in light of last night's Wellstone exploitation rally.

You'll never convince me that Clintons are behind this "landing".

No way. I mean hey, they're ambitious as all get out, and audacious too, but, really, there are limits to their audaciousness. Limited audaciousness: that's the hallmark of the Clintons!

"You'll never convince me that Clintons are behind this "landing""

Then why post this provocative story? I would put nothing, including murder, past that crew of commie supporting felons.

I'm not so sure, I think it's at least possible this was a setup.

Did you happen to notice how congresscritter Carrie Meeks (Marxist-Fla) showed up at a Jeb Bush rally/speech to ask him why the state of Florida under him still had a racist policy of treating Hatians different from non-blacks? I'm sure this was just a coincidence, right?

One of the little girls being dropped into the water is in her finest Sunday dress with bows in her hair and all. I found that bizarre to say the least.

It seemed to me that if they realy wanted to be able to come ashore and stealthily blend in with the population that they would have landed at night, and somewhere less trafficked. The intercoastal waterway has park areas and mangrove swamps, compared to to Miami. Frankly, the 17th St. causeway shot reminded me of the old Jackie Gleason Show opening The Miami Beach audience is the greatest audience in the world! Kinda what McAuliffe was counting on?

The Coast Guard, under the direction of Clinton holdover Norm Mineta DOT, said that they felt they had used the "appropriate" amount of surveillance to insure the safety of the people on board ship.

You're right about that. She was SO dressed up and looked like it was Easter Sunday and she was on her way to church.

It seemed to me almost right from the beginning of this fiasco that this was a set-up to embarrass Jeb Bush just before the election. Funny how the Haitians in Florida managed to rally so quickly. Don't they have jobs?

Why would you put this past the Clinton machine? Political expediency at any cost has been their way since birth.

Did they? I don't know.

Would they? Absolutely.

Maybe you'll feel differnetly after you hear this:

They were talking about this on some WSJ show that appears on CNBC last night. One of the panelists was Joe Lockhart. He said something very scary to me. This is his EXACT quote:

"It's going to be a very interesting weekend in Florida."

This was in the context of the Dems turning this Haitian 'landing' into a big racial incident to use against Jeb. A panelist fron the Cato Institute predicted a win for Bush, that was when Lockhart disgorged the above quote.

To me, they have something really dirty up their sleeves. Let's hope they overplay their hand.

I thought of this, then felt a little kooky, then remembered the types running the DNC these days.

After Meeks showed up to hector Jeb Bush I really had to consider again if this daylight dash was in fact orchestrated.

Alot of them were all smiles as they hopped off the boat. You travel for days or weeks to escape your oppressive country only to be stopped by the coast guard and your smiling? I'm a little more than suspicious.

Today's Wall Street Journal has an op-ed piece by Raymond A. Joseph, who is described as the "editor of the Haiti Observateur, a weekly paper published in Brooklyn, N.Y." He claims that Aristide and his Democratic allies in the Congressional Black Caucus have planned this for months and publicly threatened it. From the article: "The US was put on notice some time back. Last July, President Jean-Bertrand Aristide of Haiti gave a lengthy interview to the New York Times, in which he noted that the dire economic situation in his country might force thousands of Haitians to flood the beaches of southern Florida. 'Governor Bush wouldn't want that,' he said, especially in an election year. Mr. Aristide even said, 'Jeb and I are in the same boat,' meaning that a Haitian exodus could jeopardize the president's brother's prospects."

Yesterday Jeb was ambushed by Carrie Meeks, D-Rep in Miami - again too convenient. Here's an email I sent her today - assuming she can read!!.

Rep. Meeks:
You should be ashamed of your performance yesterday "demanding" that Gov. Bush "call his brother" about the illegals who landed in Miami. Are you doing the bidding of the Clintons and McAuliffe by trying to "humiliate" the President - as was reported in Newsweek?

You've been in Congress for how long? What have YOU done to protect illegals? You are out of touch with the voters in FL if you think we want any more illegals collecting welfare which I remind you, is paid for with our hard earned tax dollars.

Why don't you do something positive like insisting the INS be re-organized so they can better protect our borders.

I remember now why I haven't listened to Rush in a lonnnng time. Rafters, floaters, balseros, whatever you want to call them, always increase around November 1st because tropical storm season is just about over, the water is calmer, the sharks haven't shown up yet for the winter and chance of interdiciton is lower. The fact is the US Coast Guard got caught with their pants down. They didn't spot the boat until it was 2 miles off the US coast and even then they didn't intercept. Rush can blow all the smoke he wants about the Demos, but the US has substantial assets commited to detection, open water interdiction and repatriation, all of which is supposed to take place way beyond the range of Miami local news helicopters. If the USCG Commander in Miami still has his job Friday afternoon, Bush is wrong.

Problem with the Demoncraps is that they blew their timing...

The Haitian story arrived on the media scene during the Russian hostage rescue/fiasco and during the Wellstone planecrash so I don't think anyone was paying attention to this second rate news story.

However, when it happened i too was very suspicious of the timing and wondered if it was yet another dirty trick by the Stain.

It does look like McBride is really starting to fade, however... but keep your guard up everyone! the RATS will do anything at all to gain power!

That is quite interesting.

In fact, it does raise the question as to whether the Dems are, as they did in the Cold War during the Reagan years, trying to get foreign leaders to do things that will impact our elections... AGAIN.
