Peres: Settlement rabbis 'sh-tty inciters'

Foreign Minister Shimon Peres Sunday called the rabbis of Judea, Samaria, and the Gaza Strip "sh-tty inciters," who not too long ago called for killing him.

Peres, speaking at the cabinet meeting, was upset at rabbis in the settlements who have called on religiously observant soldiers to refuse orders to evacuate settlement outposts. He claimed that prior to the assassination of Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin, the rabbis incited against Rabin and himself.

Prime Minister Ariel Sharon asked Peres in the meeting to take back his foul language, but the foreign minister declined. National Infrastructures Minister Effi Eitam called on Peres to quit for making such a statement.

I haven't read your link yet, but I wanted to throw in that I've had numerous Arabs (Egyptian, Yemeni, Saudi) tell me what a load of crap that 'philistine' argument is. They are not descendants of the philistines and all the other arabs know it. Palestinians are a collection of various mixed-group peoples that were gathered up from all over and stuck there to get them out of the other countries. And this was done by the arabs, so they ought to know. They usually keep quiet about because they hate jews and will do anything to hurt them. They tolerate the palestinians, but they hate them too, really.

I'm still waiting. The old "there is no such thing as Palestine" argument is moronic and inaccurate. The entire region was Palestine, called so by the British, the Ottoman (whom the British conquered in order to take posession of Palestine) and most anyone with a decent knowledge of world geogrophy. The fact that there was never any nation called Palestine is irrelevant. Jews in the region were Palestinian due to their geographic location.

I've read several articles on the subject. It is an inane argument that fails to address several important facts. Actual theft is occurring in the settlements whether or not the original owner of the property can rightfully be called a Palestinian or a green man from mars. Title to property is being ignored and land which does not belong to Jews in the settlements is being sold to Jews without the permission of the titled landowner. Theft. The "is there now or was there ever a nation called Palestine" argument is a red herring.

Yes, let's all respect the words of a man who shares his Nobel so-called Peace Prize with ARAFAT. Peres, a man who has NEVER won an election in Israel because not even the left can stomach him. PERES, a man who promised, during his campaign against Bibi Netanyahu, to CRUSH the religious schools in Israel. Peres, who despises the observant rabbis who live in the so called settlements because they are devoted to G-d, the Torah, and the Holy Land, and have something Peres has always lacked: COURAGE AND CONVICTION.

Title to property is being ignored...

That's the whole crux of the problem. The palestinians don't have title to the land. And I don't mean Israeli title. They don't have title period. Their arab overlords didn't trust them enough to let most have it. They were squatters then, too. This has been a legal issue for a long time. The DNC controlled media in this country and the anti-semitic press (don't lecture me about the meaning of semitic) in the rest of the world won't talk about this issue. I will concede one point however, Begin was a terrorist.
