There is a militant black group named the Moors that spreads this nonsense. You can recognize em by the large purple fezzes they wear (no joke). These people are seriously bent. I had jury duty and one of these fruits was defending himself (of course) while facing charges of assaulting a police officer. He was convinced that we were all parts of "rival messianic secret societies" and at least two of my fellow jury candidates were terrified of him as they considered the Moors the equivalent of a modern day black KKK (except they apparently assault both whites and disobedient blacks). A few months back there was an article on Islam Online about how an 'archeologist' found evidence that there were moslims on the continent before Columbus. And stuff about native indians who we muslims and so on.

Real Americans don't attempt to co-opt a national holiday commemorating an American historical hero by offering unsubstantiated, self-serving conjecture about the role their own ethnic and religious group played in the founding.
