Man, Wife Plead Guilty In Deaths Of Woman, Child

FAYETTE, MO -- (AP) -- A man and his wife pleaded guilty to two counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of a Boonville woman and her daughter.
Eric Mize, 19, and his wife, Angela, 25, of Glasgow admitted that they killed Janice Marie Owen, and her 8-year-old daughter, Alyssa, in February.
Howard County Prosecutor Mason Gebhardt says Owen and her daughter were killed because the Mizes wanted to use Allysa for their sexual gratification and, "Janice was in the way."
Under Missouri law, both will be sentenced to life in prison without possibility of parole.
Gebhardt said he gave the Mizes until Tuesday to plead guilty to first-degree murder or he intended to seek the death penalty against them.
