Crossfire's Novak on NJSC Ruling: PA Gov. Schweiker Should Replace Fisher in GOP PA Gov. Ballot Slot
CNN Crossfire | 10/2/02

Posting this belatedly, but toward the close of the show when discussing the NJ decision, Novak half-jokingly proposed that since Fisher is so far behind in the Pennsylvania Governor's polls, maybe Governor Schweiker, who has turned out to be somewhat of a hero after the Pennsylvania mine situation, should replace Fisher on the ballot.

Hmmmm, maybe 'cause the Dems kind of LIKE him? At least that's the impression I get from Bonior and McDermott...

Well, why not.

In our new banana republic, I guess anything goes.

Why do we need laws anymore? They don't mean anything

That's okay--I jokingly proposed this bait and switch earlier (on some thread or other here--too late to figure out where)--Schweiker wins and then resigns for "pressing family concerns" and he appoints his Lt. Gov. (Fisher ??) in his stead
