Election: Late-deciding voters will likely sway close contests for the state's top office and for two congressional seats.
The race for Maryland governor is deadlocked and will be decided by voters who have yet to choose between Democrat Kathleen Kennedy Townsend and Republican Robert L. Ehrlich Jr., and by a shrinking pool of others still willing to change their minds, a new poll released yesterday shows.

Townsend (D) leads Ehrlich (R) 45-43 in the gubernatorial race.
In MD-02, Helen Bentley (R) leads Dutch Ruppersberger (D) 42-40.
In MD-08, Chris Van Hollen (D) leads Connie Morella (R) 43-40.
If you want on or off my poll ping list, let me know!
Oh Good. If there's going to be a 'RAT holding office, let's be sure it's a clearly identified 'RAT and not one disguised as a friggin' RINO. For some reason, voters are afraid to shoot RINOs - I guess they are partial to pachyderms over rodents. At least Van Hollen comes pre-painted wearing a nice bright target. (administrator: don't report me for abuse - it's a metaphor - no physical violence implied here)
Steady as she goes, Bobby.
If a candidate's supporters already accept the concept of affirmative action, I don't know why making this value judgment would cause a politician to lose that support.
I think GOP will lose both MD2 and MD 8...
Probably. The only thing that Morella does for us is to vote Hastert as the Speaker of the House. Other than that, I don't think she have done a thing for us. No great loss, if we lose her.
Some day we can have a conservative to represent us, but again we live in Montgomery County.
So forget it.
That would probably be a safe bet in MD, but this is the first poll I've seen showing Morella losing, and the first poll showing Bentley leading. If Ehrlich/Steele can get a good turnout for the gov's race, they may be able to pull one or both of these seats along with them. It'll be interesting.
