U.S. Rep. Patsy Mink, who has been hospitalized for pneumonia, is "on the way to recovery" and capable of running for reelection, U.S. Rep. Neil Abercrombie said yesterday.
"She is not in mortal danger," he said. "She is quite the opposite. She is doing exactly what the doctors tell her to do, which among other things include that she rest completely. And as soon as it's physically possible for her, she will be back out in the campaign ... full blast for renomination and for election, and intends to serve and complete her term in the 108th Congress."

Chicken pox pneumonia (the Herpes-varicella virus itself can cause pneumonia) is very serious in any adult, let alone someone as old as this Senator.
In fact, among the things I used to warn parents to watch for in their children who got chicken pox was any difficulty breathing or other signs of pneumonia as this can happen even in a kid.
I wish her well, but she's nearly as far left as Barbara Lee in Congress and the people here don't seem to actually pay any attention to their congress critters, being quite happy to pull the lever for all the Democrats consistently.
Let's hope things change this election.
Apparently, the "info" Abercrombie gave came directly from Mink's family, rather than a first-hand account. I smell a cover-up.
That is not surprising -- may she rest in peace.
