I do hope this passes. A week ago Sunday, we hit a deer on the way to Church - totaled my car, scared me out of my skin.

We live in Calhoun County, MI, which is notorious for deer accidents. Thankfully, this was the FIRST time after 12 years of living here. Thankfully, hubby was driving. I would NOT have handled it as well as he did!

PETA needs to get a grip on saving Bambi.

Me too! This place is about 7 miles from me (as the car dodges the deer). Some of the backroads I drive have lots of hills and curves...you never know when one will be there! So far I've hit one deer, had one deer hit me (ran me down from behind!) and several near misses. And then there's the hostas and impatiens.....

Glad your ok. I missed a collision with a doe darting across the road this morning by about a 1/2 second.

I lived briefly in Marshall and Battle Creek, and I couldn't believe how many deer were out in that area. I remember some power station thingy on I-69 just south of Marshall. It was surrounded by fields of corn, and I could expect to see at least a dozen deer there grazing every evening on my way home.

What a beautiful area you live in...if my beloved weren't so tied to his work here, I'd drag him off to someplace like Calhoun County.
