Because the grip of political correctness has this country's leaders by the short & curlys. The "war on terror" is another "war on drugs", a paper tiger.
The impending Iraq offensive is merely a distraction. Even less attention will be paid to immigration, borders, profiling, or anything else that will really end terrorism. The Beast had Yugoslavia, Bush has Iraq.
Political correctness will win again and we're all that much less safe.
Israel has terrorists within its borders too. Despite an overwhelming military they refuse to solve the problem. Why? Because they too are gripped by the slow death of political correctness. Not until Israel values the lives of its citizens more than it does the opinions of the UN, EU, and media will there be positive change.
