BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) -- A former Target cashier who claimed she was fired for wearing a gold cross necklace has settled her religious discrimination suit against the retail giant.
The suit by Cindy Dunn of Springville was dismissed by U.S. District Judge Karen Bowdre after the judge was told of the settlement Wednesday. Details and terms were not disclosed.
Dunn's attorney, Christa Milheim, was unavailable for comment Friday. David T. Wiley, a Birmingham attorney for Target, declined comment.
The suit claimed that a store manager told Dunn to tuck her gold cross necklace inside her shirt, because it offended some customers. She refused.
Target Stores said in a previous statement that the allegations were untrue, and that the company respects and values the individuality of its workers and customers.
