Once again, the RIAA.org website has been hacked, mirrors are posted below and a description follows:

RIAA.org Site Hacked from madirish Wed Aug 28 @ 22:29 (Reads: 35) Check it out at http://www.riaa.org while it lasts :) The server is getting mad requests after the news broke on http://www.fark.com. I've mirrored the front page on my homepage at http://www.madirish.net. Enjoy :D

Relevant FARK thread with lots of mirrors.

RIAA against music sharing? Not anymore!

RIAA to sue music sharers? Not Anymore

With the legal file sharing service kazaa still online,

the Recording Industry Association of America

(RIAA) today announced that it intends to offer

the latest albums for download from riaa.org.

As you are probably aware, the RIAA has been pursuing a
policy of preventing this activity in recent months
We have recently become aware that this approach is
yielding only limited results and in some cases may in
fact be harming sales and the artists' revenue stream.

The RIAA wishes to apologise for the heavy-handed manner
in which the popular chinese site Listen4Ever was
closed down, and would like to present the following
items for free download as a token of its goodwill.
Of course the list is relatively small, but please be
patient - we expect to offer over 300 next week. We
also intend to offer pre-released movies in the coming months.

If what you want isn't on the list, then please try Kazaa Lite - available here

Yeah, I know it's vigilanteism, and SOME hackers do bad things to the little guys computer, but Goddamnit if the RIAA didn't have this sort of thing seriously coming to them, bunch of lowlife scum...

More power to these hackers, I say...

I don't mind paying for music but 13.99 for a recycled album is rediculous.

Is there anything on the "new look" site (or the inevitable mirrors) that would get someone in trouble with the Computer Police at work?

Well, the RIAA are the people who want to legalize cracking into people's computers. They've effectively gotten their wish.

Well the "New Look" mirror DOES contain a link to babylon-x.com, but nothing more.
Whether that is work safe or not I do not know.

Oh yeah, duh...forgot about that.

Actually, I thought they only wanted it to be legal for THEM to crack and DDoS everyones computer..still illegal to do it to them. But hey, will peole like Cash and Carry Fritz Hollings in the House, people can buy any law they like...

LOL -- like their liberal buddies would love to rewrite the 22nd amendment so it only to applied to Eisenhower and Reagan, not Clinton".
