Star-Packed Full Frontal a Box-Office Dud

Did you ever think Julia Roberts and Brad Pitt would make a movie and everyone would ignore it? Well, that's the case with Steven Soderbergh's unintelligible Full Frontal.

Last weekend, in a little over 200 theaters, it made less than $400,000. Its total so far is a million bucks. That isn't even enough to pay Julia's annual hairstyling bill.

What happened? ...

I wonder if this has anything to do with Julia Roberts saying Republicans are in the dictionary between reptiles and repugant? (Sorry if I managled the quote.)

Not a thing. This author was gushing over Rosie O'Donnel financing a play, featuring Boy George. He was ecstatic over her magazine, which is tanking. He sounded very swishy.

============================================================

Somebody should remind julia that at her age she is between an IS and a WAS.

A couple more movies like Full Frontal (Barf) and she will reach the point of a WAS.

It was reptile and Republican.

Wasn't she the one who stood on stage gushing, "They love me!! They really, really love me!!"?

I think that was Sally Fields.

After seeing them in The Mexican I'm not surprised that their few remaining fans ignored this piece of...work.

My fiance and I saw "Full Frontal" and we both loved it. BUT...we both live in Los Angeles and are both in the film/entertainment biz. We can totally relate to the wackiness of the story/stories. For someone not living in L.A. or in the film industry, I can see how this movie wouldn't make any sense. It wasn't supposed to be for the masses. He was making fun of the industry and his viewing audience was for the people in the industry. It cost only $2 million dollars to produce the film and it was shot in only 18 days. It accomplished what it set out to do.

That shows how bright Julia Roberts is. Being close to something does not equate you with it. I'm surrounded by liberals here in Connecticut. That doesn't make me one.

This news brings me to borrow Ms. Roberts' disgusting panderous speech when presenting Denzel Washington this year's Oscar in expressing my joy:

"My life is good!"

I love Stealer's Wheel - and I love that they had the guts to let Tarantino use their song in that particular scene. Although I think Brak had a good take on it:

Corned beef to the left a me
Corned beef to the right a me . . . wait a minute, no . . .

Corned beef to the left a me
Sauerkraut to the right a me
Rye bread in front a me
Cheese comin' from behind
And then everybody . . . ate . . . a sandwich!

Yeah, it's called "The Mexican."

Memo to Brad: next time Julia calls, hang up fast.

ALL HAIL BRAK!!!!

Actually, my fave Brak song is the poignant, tender "Baloney Sandwich" - "I'm sorry sandwich!".

Sorry, that was Sally Field ("You love me...") after an best actress oscar for Norma Rae, I think. I remember seeing her "speech"; It was quite an ugly sight to me even though I had significantly less judgement and discretion then. (Why else would one be watching those idiots gushing over each other?)

Look, I'm no fan of Julia Roberts (Brad Pitt has done some good stuff) but why is this a story?

It's only in 200 theaters. It's probably only playing in NYC and LA right now. Plenty of movies open very slowly this way. There hasn't even been a big advertising blitz yet.

That said, it might still do crappy at the box office but, again, the fact that it's only on 200 screens says it all.
