Kim Hebner, a librarian at the Logan-Rogersville high school, isn’t familiar with the series, but cringes at the thought of the books being banned.

“I don’t like to really see books totally banned because I feel like that is an infringement on their right to read whatever they would like,” she said.

I agree with this sentiment when talking about adults but in this case the readers are 5th and 6th graders and such a position as Hebner's makes me cringe.

The board voted in June to ban the books even though board members hadn’t read them.

Well. I'm certainly glad the school board didn't do anything rash, like read the f**king book before BANNING it.

They don't gotta burn the books, they just remove them.

So if a kid wants to read the "Turner Diaries" this librarian would pretty much concede that child's RIGHT to read whatever s/he wants???

This is stupid. They aren't "banning" the books. They are merely choosing not to provide them. If I choose not to have a book in my home, I'm not "banning" it. What leftist tripe.
